Visibility and ventilation with physical separation

Mesh Machine Guards

Welded-mesh guarding creates a clear physical boundary while retaining airflow and visibility. Aperture, guard height, floor clearance and distance from the hazard must be considered together so the finished arrangement controls reach routes effectively.

Application fit

Where welded mesh guarding works best.

Mesh panels can be integrated into fabricated steel or modular frames with colour-coded posts and doors. The final aperture and stand-off distance are selected from the machine-specific risk assessment and applicable safety-distance requirements.

01

Clear process visibility

Operators and supervisors can observe the equipment without opening the safeguarded area.

02

Airflow around equipment

Open mesh helps avoid unwanted heat build-up where a fully enclosed solid panel is unnecessary.

03

Adaptable cell layouts

Fixed bays, hinged or sliding gates and tool-removable sections can be arranged around the production footprint.

Design considerations

What the specification needs to resolve.

Material choice cannot be separated from access, safe distance, support, containment and the production environment. These decisions are developed together.
